Lots of baby smiles . . .

A little photographic update from the last few weeks . . .

A few weeks ago, we met Aunt Katie for the first time!

No stranger anxiety with Aunt Katie since she looks a lot like mama!

Our first official summertime visit to Lake Cherokee!!!

We loved the boat . . .

Ashton even got to drive with Pops!

Our favorite part was hanging out in the pool!

Ashton loved the ladies. . I mean LOVED the ladies!
He literally squealed when he saw them!

I'd say the lake was a hit!!

Back at home, we spend a lot of time crawling . . .

and pulling up . . .

and kind of crawling . . .

and playing in the yard . . .

We also got to play with our friend Libby.

And see our Kimmy and Aunt Jamie. .

What a great few weeks it has been!

Nine Months Down

It is hard to believe that nine months have already passed.  When I first found out I was pregnant, nine months seemed so far away.  I remember actually looking forward to Mondays because each Monday meant I was  another week pregnant.  But boy did those weeks pass slowly.  Nowadays, weeks seem more like days or better yet hours, and nine months have passed in the blink of an eye. Wasn't it just yesterday that my baby girl could almost fit in the palm of my hand? Wasn't it just last week that I would celebrate when my baby boy would drink an ounce of milk on his own? Now that same tiny girl has rolls on her thighs and that same little boy can drink nine ounces of milk in six minutes flat! It's amazing what nine months can do!

Ashton is crawling like a champ now.  No more army crawling for this little man.  He is quick and interested in everything. He is also starting to pull up and I actually found him standing in his crib this morning.  I think he was just as shocked as me that he had pulled himself up and seemed "stuck" since he hasn't quite figured out how to sit back down.  I have to admit that I laughed out loud when I opened the door.  He loves to smile, clap his hands, and splash in water.  Last weekend, we set up a baby pool for Ashton and Mary Seegars which offered hours of entertainment.  Ashton also loves the ladies.  He literally lights up when girls are around and has already mastered the flirty smile.  We may be in trouble in years to come.  Ashton loves to eat and pizza crust is his new favorite.  He is, simply put, the most squishy, snugly, smiley, little boy and he has his mama wrapped around his finger.

Mary Seegars (who is still going by Peanut) has finally figured out the crawling thing. Well, sort of. It is her own rendition of crawling but it gets her to her destination, so she is happy.  Ms. Peanut loves to jump and will jump right out of your hands if you are not holding her tightly.  She pulls herself up and can last longer in a plank than Gash or I can.  Mary Seegars had mastered the art of imitation and claps when we say "yay" and waves when we say "bye-bye".  Her giggle is to die for and she is ticklish on almost every part of her body.  Mary Seegars is the champion of putting down some baby food and actually eats more than her brother (who is five pounds bigger).  She still loves oatmeal with fruit the most but carrots come in as a close second.  Mary Seegars is a priss pot most of the time (when she is not channeling her inner bulldog) and knows how to put a smile on my face no matter what kind of day I am having.  She is the sweetest, prettiest, happiest little girl and we are so blessed to have her in our lives.

Here we are Nine Months Old . . .
